Lewis skull: second print

Making the 3d model for the Lewis skull

Following on the heels of the first print, I scaled the print size up to perhaps four sheets of 8.5”x11” paper.

A white paper hemisphere with black markings sits on a cardboard backdrop, with quarter to scale. The hemisphere is between five and six inches wide, and gives off a frail impression.
This skull is about four inches across, and will never be completed. It’s served as a good measure of how large I’ll need to inflate the SVG, though. My head dimensions are, at a rough guess, 6.5″ wide, 8″ tall, and 9″ front to back. That means scaling up by a factor of π.

The next build was the third print, which was ludicrously oversized.
